URBANA, Ill. - Illinois softball's seventh-inning heroics were not enough as the Fighting Illini fell to Michigan State, 7-5, at Eichelberger Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Orange and Blue dropped to 16-20 on the year and 3-8 in Big Ten play. MSU moved to 13-21 overall and 3-9 against conference foes.
A pair of Illini logged a home run in the seventh with Stevie Meade rocking a solo bomb over the left field fence and Eileen Donahue adding a three-run dinger.
