Illini Men’s Golf in the Pros | March 31, 2025

NEWS

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – In the leadup to next week's Masters, which will include Illinois alums Brian Campbell and Thomas Detry in the field at Augusta National, five other Illini are in action this week across the PGA TOUR, LIV Golf League, Korn Ferry Tour, and PGA TOUR Americas.

PGA TOUR

Nick Hardy is set to make his 10th start of the PGA TOUR season this week at the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, Texas. Hardy will compete in the event for the fourth straight season and posted finishes of T28 and T25 in 2023 and 2024, respectively, heading into action this week at TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course.

LIV GOLF LEAGUE

LIV Golf is set to make the tour's first stop of the season in the United States this week with Thomas Pieters teeing off with his 4Aces GC teammates at LIV Golf Miami, hosted at Trump National Doral.

Pieters is coming off a 24th place individual finish at Singapore, his third top 25 through four events, which helped 4Aces to a season-best third place in the team race.

KORN FERRY TOUR

Luke Guthrie will be joined on the Korn Ferry Tour by the circuit's 2023 Rookie of the Year at this week's Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, Georgia.

Guthrie will make his seventh start of the season and is looking for his fifth made cut of the year after missing the weekend in his last outing at the Astara Chile Classic in early March.

Dumont de Chassart, who has also competed in two PGA TOUR events and three DP World Tour tourneys in 2025, tees off for the second this season on the Korn Ferry Tour after a T16 finish last month at the 118 Visa Argentina Open.

PGA TOUR AMERICAS

Piercen Hunt returns to action as a Monday Qualifier for the 70th Brazil Open, held at the Rio Olympic Golf Course in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It marks the 10th-career start on the tour for Hunt, his first of the 2025 campaign, and his first in the Brazil Open.
