CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini swim and dive team is set to compete in the Last Chance Meet in Louisville, Ky., on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1.
The Illini traveling for the meet include Gwen Bakker, Gianna Cappello, Taylor Judas, Abby Ninan, Kylee Sessions, Sophia Yousuf, Maggie Adler, Marin McAndrew, and Elleka Boeres.
At the Big Ten Championships on Feb. 19, Adler swam the program's second-fastest time (7:13.32) as part of the team's 11th-place finish.
In the Illini's last home meet against Eastern Illinois on Feb. 1, Sophia Yousuf won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.71. The 200 medley relay team—Suvana Baskar, Gwen Bakker, Abby Ninan, and Marin McAndrew—kicked off the meet with a first-place finish, clocking in at 1:43.84. Adler also secured a victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.79.
