CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois dropped its season finale to Northwestern at Huff Hall on Friday night.
The Fighting Illini honored four seniors following the match: Cari Bohm, Kayla Burbage, Averie Hernandez, and Bianca May.
Hernandez marked her final appearance in the Orange and Blue with her first double-double of the season, ending the night with a season-high 14 kills and 12 digs. She also tallied two aces and two blocks.
Alyssa Aguayo led the Illini with 15 kills while making 13 digs for the 11th double-double of her freshman campaign. She added two aces and an assist.
Kenna Phelan posted a double-double with 49 assists and 13 digs while also logging four kills, two blocks, and an ace.
Taylor de Boer totaled 12 kills and one block, while Ashlyn Philpot finished with 11 kills and four blocks, including a solo stuff.
Taryn Kirsch notched a team-high 15 digs, while Kenzie Cogan amassed a career-high 13 digs.
