#21 Illinois Falls at Wisconsin, 27-10

RECAP

MADISON, Wis. – No. 21 Illinois fell to Wisconsin, 27-10, on Saturday evening at Camp Randall Stadium.  

Luke Altmyer threw for 248 yards, while rushing for the Illini's lone touchdown of the day, his fourth this season and the 12th of his career. Collin Dixon had a team-best 62 receiving yards.  

Gabe Jacas led the Illini defense with two sacks, moving him into sole possession of No. 2 on the Illini's all-time list with 25.0 for his career. He trails only Illini career leader Simeon Rice (44.5 from 1992-95). 

All three of Wisconsin's touchdowns came on the ground, including the first from Vinny Anthony II and two from Darrion Dupree. Dupree paced the Badgers with 131 rushing yards.

Illinois returns to Gies Memorial Stadium next Saturday (Nov. 29), for its final game of the regular season against Northwestern. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on FOX.

    • Recorded his fourth rushing TD of the season, his 11th rushing score as an Illini and the 12th of his career overall.
    • Has accounted for 68 total TDs as an Illini with 56 passing, 11 rushing, and one receiving.
  • Gabe Jacas posted six tackles (four solo) with 2.5 tackles for loss, including 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble.
    • Tallied 2.0 sacks to move into sole possession of No. 2 on the Illini's all-time list with 25.0 for his career. He trails only Illini career leader Simeon Rice (44.5 from 1992-95).
    • Forced the seventh fumble of his career, moving into a tie for sixth on the program's all-time list. 
  • Matthew Bailey recorded a game-high 10 tackles (8 solo) with a forced fumble.
    • Bailey's 10 total tackles tied a season high and his eight solo stops tied a career high, both set last week vs. Maryland.
    • He has five games in his career with double-digit tackles, all coming within his last 18 games.
    • Recorded his second forced fumble of the season, and the fourth of his career.
  • Hank Beatty hauled in a game-high seven receptions, for 47 yards, and added 28 punt-return yards for a total of 75 all-purpose yards. 
    • Recorded a 28-yard punt return in the second quarter that set up Illinois' first scoring drive.
      • Marked his third punt return of 20+ yards this season, and his longest in a Big Ten game this year
      • Entered the game ranked 20th in the nation at 18.5 yards per punt return.
