CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois fell to Iowa in five sets at sold-out Huff Hall on Sunday afternoon.
Four Fighting Illini finished with double-digit kills, led by a team-high 14 kills from Alyssa Aguayo, who hit at a .375 clip. The freshman outside hitter registered her seventh double-double of the season with 10 digs while also posting two aces.
Auburn Tomkinson tallied 12 kills, her second-most in Big Ten play this season, while making four total blocks and adding three digs and an assist.
Ashlyn Philpot also recorded 12 kills with a .458 hitting percentage, while Taylor de Boer totaled 11 kills, two blocks, and a dig.
Taryn Kirsch collected a team-most 13 digs, while Averie Hernandez accumulated 10 digs and four aces. Kayla Burbage bagged five total blocks.
