CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illini women's golf is set to compete in the Briar's Creek Invitational at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek, hosted by the College of Charleston. The two-day tournament will be played on Monday, March 11, through Tuesday, March 12.
THE SETTING
The Briar's Creek Invitational is held at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek. The course was designed by architect Rees Jones in 2002. The course will be set up for a par 72 and will play 6,152 yards long.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
There will be 17 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament. Monday features a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start, while Tuesday's shotgun start is set for 7:45 a.m. CT. There will be 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and 18 holes of play on Tuesday.
THE FIELD
Along with the Illini, the 17-team field for the Briar's Creek Invitational will include Boston College, Campbell, College of Charleston Florida, Georgetown, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, NC State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, UCF and Wisconsin.

ILLINI AT BRIAR'S CREEK INVITATIONAL
This will be the fourth-straight year and eighth time overall that the Illini will compete in the Briar's Creek Invitational. In last year's event, the Orange and Blue finished sixth out of 16 teams carding a 54-hole total of 874 (+10). Illinois' best finish in this tournament is third, which they accomplished in 2016 and 2018.

UP NEXT
The Illini will return to action on Friday, March 29, where they begin play at the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic at the UGA Golf Course in Athens, Ga.
