CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 19 Fighting Illini men's tennis is set to host Eastern Illinois and No. 14 Baylor on Friday, March 1, at 10 a.m. CT (EIU) and 6 p.m. CT (Baylor) at Atkins Tennis Center. 

No. 23 Men's Tennis Takes Down Notre Dame, 4-3

The Illini are coming off a 4-3 road victory over Notre Dame at Eck Tennis Pavilion on Saturday, Feb. 17.  

Illinois started the match off with a 6-2 doubles win from Mathis Debru and Kenta Miyoshi over Nil Giraldez and Brian Bilsey at No. 3. 

No. 3-ranked Karlis Ozolins and Hunter Heck clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Evan Lee and Chase Thompson at No. 2. 

Alex Petrov clinched the match in singles play with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Jameson Corsillo. 

Scouting Report

EIU is coming off its seventh straight loss of the year after a 7-0 defeat to Lipscomb on Feb. 25 in Nashville. The Panthers did earn a doubles win, with William Hays and Jon William Karlstad picking up a 6-1 victory.

No. 14 Baylor is fresh off a 4-1 loss to No. 1 Ohio State, a match in which the lone point came in doubles play. Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and Christopher Frantzen secured a 6-1 win at No. 3 before Devin Badenhorst and Luc Koenig clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at No. 2.
