CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Just a few hours after turning in her Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement to join the Illinois women's basketball program next year, Destiny Jackson has earned a spot on the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Girl's High School Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. Jackson is a five-star guard out of Chicago, Ill.
Jackson is one of just six signees on the 50-player list committed to a Big Ten school (by this season's alignment). She's played her prep ball at Whitney Young Magnet H.S. while playing club for Example Sports GUAA.
Jackson marks the second honoree in as many years for future Illini as current freshman Berry Wallace was recognized to the list as a high school senior.
