Illinois senior Jackson Buchanan led the now-No. 12 Fighting Illini men's golf team to a tie for second at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 21 and a win at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 27. Buchanan secured his fourth collegiate medalist title and was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week following his individual victory at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational. The reigning Big Ten Golfer of the Year got his first win of the 2024-25 season, storming back from a 75 (+3) in Round 1 with a 68 (-4) and 66 (-6) in Rounds 2 and 3, respectively, to claim the come-from-behind victory at 209 (-7).
At the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, Buchanan recorded a team-best 204 (-12), which saw him earn his third top-three finish of the fall. He posted his lowest three-round total of the fall with a 12-under on back-to-back 5-under 67s and a closing 70 (-2). Buchanan is a senior majoring in operations management.
