EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 10 Illinois fell to Northwestern, 96-91, in overtime at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Wednesday night.
Coleman Hawkins recorded his second double-double of the season, amassing a season-high 22 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Hitting double figures for the 10th time in his last 11 games, Hawkins also notched a career-high seven offensive boards, two steals, and two blocks, his fifth game this season with multiple swats.
Marcus Domask registered his fifth 20-point performance of the season, finishing with 22 points. After putting up seven points in the first half, Domask accumulated 15 points between the second half and overtime for his 10th consecutive outing in double figures. He also added six assists, two rebounds, and one steal.
Quincy Guerrier finished his outing with his third consecutive double-double, tallying 15 points and 11 rebounds. He also tacked on five offensive boards, his third straight game with at least five rebounds on the offensive glass.
Terrence Shannon Jr. added 12 points for his 23rd consecutive game in double figures, and he also ended his night with three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block.
Luke Goode knocked down two 3-pointers, his 11th outing with multiple triples this season, before finishing with eight points and four rebounds.
No. 10 Illinois (14-5, 5-3 B1G) hosts its Stripe State Farm Center game on Saturday, when Indiana (12-7, 4-4 B1G) makes the trip to Champaign. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. CT on FOX.
