CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois men's gymnastics team will launch its 2024 season at the annual Windy City Invitational at 7 p.m. at Navy Pier in Chicago.

Illinois has been participating in this invitational since 1989, when they placed third out of eleven teams.
Last year, Illinois took home the first-place trophy after scoring a 399.400 to beat Michigan, Ohio State, NIU, UIC and Greenville.
Four New Faces
Head coach Daniel Ribeiro added four freshmen to the 2024 roster: Brandon Dang (West Coast Olympic Gymnastics Academy), Preston Ngai (Elevate Gymnastics Academy), Vahe Petrosyan (Gymnastics Olympica) and Alex Tapanes (Florida Gymnastics Training Center).
Preseason Rankings
Illinois earned a No. 3-ranking by the College Gymnastics Association after the program's third-place finish at the NCAA Championships last April. The Illini were also ranked No. 2 in the Big Ten preseason poll after finishing second in the regular season and nearly winning the regular-season title last year.
