EVANSTON, Ill. - Three Fighting Illini student-athletes competed unattached at the Northwestern-hosted UTR College Circuit event from Sept. 16-17. Kasia Treiber, Josie Frazier and Rosie Seccia all achieved success in the outing with two of the three winning their draws.
Treiber won the women's blue draw, earning victories over Autumn Rabjohns (Northwestern) 6-3, 6-3, Natalie Boesing (Butler) 4-2, 4-1, and Justine Leong (Northwestern) 4-0, 4-3 (4).
Frazier won the women's orange draw by taking down Sydney Pratt (Northwestern), 1-4, 4-3, 4-3 (8).
Seccia advanced to the semifinals of the women's green draw after beating Maria Shusharina (Northwestern) 7-5, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
Illinois' first action of the fall as a team is the H-E-B Invite hosted by Baylor from Sept. 29 - Oct. 1.
