CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A pair of stellar major performances over the last two weeks highlight actions for the Fighting Illini men's golf touring alumni as play rolls on into Week 30 of the 2023 schedule.
PGA TOUR
Thomas Detry impressed last weekend at the 151st Open Championship, finishing in a tie for 13th to secure the best finish of his career in a major championship. Fellow Belgian Thomas Pieters (T71) also played through the weekend at Royal Liverpool.
This week, Nick Hardy tees off at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, after finishing 63rd at last week's Barracuda Championship. Hardy enters the week looking to make his fifth cut in his last six events since a T20 finish at the U.S. Open in mid-June.
PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS
Steve Stricker's 2023 season continues to be one of the best in the Champions Tour's history. After winning his third senior major championship of the 2023 season at the Kaulig Companies Championship two weeks ago, the Illini legend joined some elite company - Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Bernhard Langer – as only the fourth golfer to win three senior major championship titles in a single year.
KORN FERRY TOUR
The NV5 Invitational brings three former Illini – Brian Campbell, Adrien Dumont de Chassart, and Michael Feagles - back to Illinois where action tees off at The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois.
Dumont de Chassart is coming off his fifth consecutive top 10 finish to open his career, a tie for seventh last week at the Price Cutter Charity Championship.
