CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois men's and women's track and field teams completed the final day of the inaugural Gary Wieneke Memorial on Saturday, April 22 from Demirjian Park. Junior Tyler Sudduth notched the program's second best shot put in his win today, 19.34m (63-5 1/2). He also won the discus with a 53.91m (176-10) toss.

Senior Alex Babbington won the high jump and recorded the program's fourth best height, 2.13m (6-11 3/4). Sophomore CJ Shoaf took second and recorded the school's eighth best height, 2.10m (6-10 3/4).

Junior Kelsey Rothas placed second in the pole vault and moved her name up to fourth in the record book, 4.16m (13-7). Sophomore Tori Thomas cleared the same mark, but in less attempts so she took the event win.

Freshman Azariyah Bryant won the women's 100m dash (12.07) and graduate student Bret Dannis won the men's 100m (11.00). Freshman Tadeas Placek won the 400m dash (47.80).

Redshirt sophomore Kenli Nettles won the high jump, 1.66m (5-5 1/4). Sophomore Lydia Malecek crossed first in the 800m dash (2:13.07) and sophomore Abby Lynch finished third (2:16.13).

UP NEXT

The track and field teams are back in action next week Fri.-Sat. April 28-29 in Jacksonville, Fla. For the University of North Florida Invitational.
