CHAMPAIGN, Ill. --  Illinois returned home and took care of business in front of the Illini crowd, beating Wisconsin, 4-0, on Friday night.

The Orange and Blue improved to 16-9 overall and 4-2 in Big Ten play, while they now are 8-1 on matches played in Champaign this season.

"This was a great night for tennis," head coach Brad Dancer said. "Wisconsin has very good players, and our guys bounced back. We have a very good Nebraska team coming Sunday, so we need to focus better to have a similar outcome."

The Illini set the tone early in doubles play, leading on all three courts before ultimately winning the doubles point for the third time in the team's last four matches. No. 50 Hunter Heck and Karlis Ozolins picked up their 10th win as a duo on court one, taking down Badger duo No. 56 Michael Minasyan and Gabriel Huber to secure a 6-3 decision and put the Illini within striking distance of the doubles point.

With Illinois knocking on the door on both courts, Gabrielius Guzauskas and William Mroz picked up a 6-4 victory over Wisconsin's Sebastian Vile and Robin Parts on court three to clinch the doubles point and put the Illini in front heading into singles play. No. 52 Mathis Debru and Oliver Okonkwo led their match, 5-4, though it went unfinished.

After the Illini won the first set on all but one court, No. 46 Ozolins took care of business on court one, registering a 6-2, 6-3 decision over Jared Pratt to extend the Illinois advantage to 2-0.

With the Illini on the brink of victory on multiple courts, Mroz and No. 88 Alex Petrov both finished off their opponents to close out the sweep. Mroz secured the 4-0 decision with a 6-1, 6-3 victory on court four in a win over Sebastian Vile before Petrov pulled out a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Mihailo Popovic on court three
