SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Illinois men's and women's track and field teams completed the two-day Meyo Invitational on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 3-4. Senior Olivia Howell won the mile race (4:33.77) and fell .03 seconds short of a new school record.
Junior Tyler Cushing took the 5000m crown (14:07.37). Senior Tyler Sudduth won the weight throw and bumped himself up to second in the school record book, 22.69m (74-5 1/2). Graduate student Emma Milburn cut off over a second of her program third best 3000m mark (9:20.28).
Six other Illini competed in South Bend this weekend: Graduate student Colin Yandel, senior Jack Roberts, sophomore Tori Thomas, freshman Mia Morello, sophomore Sam Poglitsch and junior Anthony Maida.
Tyler Sudduth threw the second-best shot-put mark with a, 19.30m (63-4). Mia Morello and Tori Thomas both vaulted a 4.08m (13-4 1/2) which tied them at second place.
