LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Illinois swimming and diving team finished the two-day Louisville Invitational on Thursday-Friday Feb. 9-10. Junior Anna Kurzydlo won three of the eight events for the Illini. She won the 100 freestyle on a new personal-best 52.80, in the 200 freestyle she set a new personal-best with a 1:52.96 and her 500 freestyle winning mark was 5:06.82.
Four other Illini swimmers made the trip: Sophomore Suvana Baskar, junior Sophia Burwitz, junior Paige Koscielski and junior Meghan Niziolek.
Niziolek tied teammate Kurzydlo in the 200 freestyle, the 1:52.96 is a new personal-best for her as well. Niziolek also set a new personal-best in the 100 freestyle time trials (52.86). She placed second in the 200 backstroke (2:05.28).
Burwitz took the crown in both the 50 freestyle (24.35) and 100 butterfly (56.21). Baskar touched first in the 200 backstroke (2:03.59). She also placed second in the 100 backstroke clocking a 55.67.
Koscielski earned second in both the 50 (24.38) and 100 freestyle (52.87). Kurzydlo also placed third in the 50 freestyle (24.53).

The Illinois swimming and diving team is back in action on Wed.-Sat. Feb. 15-18 for the Big Ten Championships from Ann Arbor, Mich.
