CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois softball has announced its 2022-23 fall schedule, featuring at least 11 chances to catch the Illini in action from Eichelberger Field. The slate includes eight games against true opposition, the Orange & Blue World Series, along with an alumni game.
Fall action will span three weekends from Sept. 24 – Oct. 9. The Illini open action with games against Lake Land College and Wabash Valley CC on Sept. 24. On Sunday, action will continue with a neutral game between UIC and Parkland before the Illini take on both UIC and Parkland.
The following weekend, Illinois is set to host Illinois Wesleyan for a doubleheader on Saturday. On Oct. 2, play will open with a neutral game between Loyola Chicago and Danville Area CC before the Orange and Blue face both squads in back-to-back games.
Orange & Blue World Series play will open with Game 1 on Friday Oct. 7 followed by Game 2 the next day. If needed, Game 3 will also take place on Oct. 8. Fall ball will close on Sunday Oct. 9 with the program's alumni game.
Admission to all fall games at Eichelberger Field is free.
