CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois baseball improved to 2-0 in its fall slate with an 12-1 victory over the Great Lake Canadians at Illinois Field on Friday night in an exhibition contest.
The Illini scored three times in the opening frame, with Connor Milton drawing a walk with the bases loaded and Cal Hejza following with a two-run single.
Branden Comia plated another run in the second with a sacrifice fly. Comia finished the game 1-for-1 with a triple and an RBI.
After tallying a run in the third, the Orange and Blue went on the score four more times in the fourth inning on two hits to take a 9-1 lead.
Gavin Bennett knocked in the Illini's 10th run in the sixth inning and Milton would collect his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.
