CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois softball will hold walk-on tryouts at Eichelberger Field on Tuesday, September 6 at 2 p.m. CT. The stadium is located in Urbana on Florida/Kirby Avenue.

Tryouts are open to all Illinois students interested in joining the softball team. Candidates are asked to bring their own equipment, including cleats, gloves, bats and any position-specific gear they may have, such as catcher's equipment.

Students will be asked to provide the coaches with a copy of their current course schedule to confirm current full-time enrollment, along with a copy of a physical (within the past six months) stating that you are cleared for participation and a copy of your health insurance card (front and back), as well as undergo a sickle cell solubility test.

Students will also need to fill out and submit the Walk-On Tryout Information Form, the Elective Voluntary Activity Waiver and the Health History Questionnaire. All three forms to complete are linked above and can be found HERE.

All interested individuals should contact assistant coach Lance McMahon at lmcmah4@illinois.edu before attending the tryout on Sept. 6. All information required needs to be submitted to Coach McMahon no later than Thursday, Sept. 1 to be eligible to participate in tryouts.
