CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois women's basketball has announced its first non-conference schedule of the Shauna Green era, ahead of the upcoming 2022-23 season. The slate features six regular-season home games along with an exhibition matchup to kick off play in State Farm Center.
The Fighting Illini will host Quincy University for an exhibition on Friday, Nov. 4 – an event that will be open to the public offering a first look of this season's squad.
Regular-season action will get underway on Nov. 9 as Long Island Brooklyn comes to town for Illinois' season opener. Alcorn State will visit State Farm Center (Nov. 13) before both McNeese State (Nov. 16) and Evansville (Nov. 19) come to town the following week. The Illini will host Oakland on Nov. 21 before heading to the Daytona Beach Invitational for the second-straight year to face Delaware and Charlotte on Nov. 25-26.
Staying on the road, the Orange and Blue will then head to Pittsburgh for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Pitt on Nov. 30.
Illinois will face a week of Big Ten play from December 3-10, with the dates and opponents announcement coming later by the league office.
December includes three more non-conference games for the Fighting Illini. The squad will head to Butler to square off on Dec. 11. A week later, Illinois will head to Missouri for another round of the Braggin' Rights game on Dec. 18. Non-conference action will conclude with the Illini hosting Florida Atlantic on Dec. 21.
Illinois' full Big Ten schedule will be released at a later date. Home and road matchups for the 18-game schedule were announced in June:
- Big Ten Home Games: Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers
- Big Ten Away Games: Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Rutgers, Wisconsin
