Three Current Illini, One Alum to Compete in Commonwealth Games

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A trio of current Fighting Illini men's gymnasts, Josh Cook, Hamish Carter, Clay Mason-Stephens, and decorated alumnus Tyson Bull, will compete in the XXII Commonwealth Games set for July 28-Aug. 8 in Birmingham, England.

The gymnastics competition is set to begin July 28 and will conclude on August 2. Cook will represent Wales, and Carter will represent Scotland, while Mason-Stephens and Bull will represent Australia. Bull also competed for Australia at the Tokyo Olympics last summer.

The Commonwealth Games have taken place every four years since 1930 with athletes from 72 nations competing in 19 sports over 11 days.
