CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini men's golfer Adrien Dumont de Chassart has been selected as an Academic All-District first-team honoree as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The honor is the latest in a lengthy list of distinctions for the Belgian native who holds a 3.78 grade point average and is pursuing his bachelor's degree in Management: Entrepreneurship from the Gies College of Business.
Dumont de Chassart is the reigning two-time Big Ten Golfer of the Year, and the conference's winner of the 2022 Les Bolstad Award, given annually to the player with the lowest stroke average of the season through the Big Ten Championship. He was a unanimous first-team All-B1G selection this season, his third-career all-conference award following a first-team nod in 2021 and a second-team selection as a freshman in 2019.
Dumont de Chassart finished second to help lead the Illini to their seventh consecutive Big Ten Championship at The Pete Dye Course at French Lick last month. He captured his third collegiate victory earlier this season at the Boilermaker Invitational, and closed the year with a tie for 15th at the NCAA New Haven Regional, giving him top-20 finishes in 11 of 12 events on the year, including seven top-fives. He closed as Illinois first- or second-place finisher in all 12 events, pacing the squad in a team-most six tournaments, while also recording a team-most 29 (out of 36) rounds at par or better, and setting the program record for single-season stroke average at 70.08.
Dumont de Chassart, as a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, will now be considered for CoSIDA Academic All-America.
