CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini baseball program's annual Honor and Serve Day scheduled for Saturday, May 7 at 1 p.m. CT will benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for Dr. Hedrick's fetal surgical team. Over $4 million has been raised for the surgical team at CHOP. The Gift will be presented by the Illinois Baseball Dugout Club in honor of Addy, Lily, Maggie and Dominic Altobelli to Fund New Discoveries to Transform Personalized Pediatric Surgical Care. The adult size game-worn jerseys by the Illinois baseball players will be auctioned off immediately following the game. Youth jerseys will also be available for sale. In addition, Gameday Spirit will be selling Honor and Serve T-shirts which can be found here. All proceeds from the jersey auction and a portion of the Gameday Spirit T-shirt sales will go toward Dr. Hedrick's surgical team at CHOP.
Illinois baseball would also like to invite all veterans as well as active military to join us in this celebration as we honor the military and serve the community at Illinois Field.
