PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The No. 25 Illinois women's golf team concluded the 2022 Big Ten Championships in fifth place with an 18-over par tournament total of 870. The Illini posted a final round 14-over par score of 298 on Sunday (April 24) at the par 71, 6,045-yard Fox Chapel Golf Club.
Senior Crystal Wang was named to the All-Championship Team after finishing in a tie for sixth place with a two-over tournament total of 215 after carding a six-over 77 in her final round.
Along with Wang, the Illini had three golfers in the top 20 as senior Kornkamol Sukaree registered a two-over 73 to tie for 12th with a four-over total of 217 and sophomore Isabel Sy earned her fifth top-25 finish of the spring as she tied for 17th with a seven-over total of 220. Sy turned in a six-over 77 in her final round on Sunday.
Freshman Alise Knudson posted her career best finish to tie for 24th with an eight-over total of 221 after carding a three-over 74 on the day, while junior Siyan Chen tied for 43rd with a tournament total of 226 (+13) and recorded a four-over 75 on Sunday. Rounding out the Illini was freshman Lexanne Halama with a 230 (+17) total to finish 57th after posting a five-over 76 in her final round.
Michigan took home the Big Ten Championship title with a five-over tournament total of 857, with the Wolverines' Monet Chun earning medalist honors with an eight-under par total of 205.

With the conclusion of the Big Ten Championships, the Illini next awaits their postseason fate until the NCAA Championships selection announcement on Wednesday (April 27) at 3 p.m. CT on the Golf Channel. The NCAA Regionals are set for May 9-11.
