Hello Illini Fans, 

My name is Avrey Steiner. I am a Senior infielder from Fowler, Ohio majoring in Accounting. Our team has just finished our fourth weekend in conference play. Time is flying and we are definitely having fun! This weekend we headed to Piscataway, New Jersey to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. To kick off the series, we took game one 9-5 on Friday. On Saturday, we won 5-0 with stellar hitting and pitching performances by our team. We concluded the series with a 9-1 victory for our 2nd straight SWEEP of conference play. This was a super exciting weekend because our bats came alive as we scored a total of 23 runs for the weekend! 

Our team has been battle-tested all year long and we are prepared for anything that may come our way. This team, on and off the field, has amazing chemistry. You can see it anytime you watch us play. I truly believe this factor is a testament to our success so far this season. We have worked extremely hard to show Illini Nation what we have been aiming for since the start of this fall. 

We have a busy week ahead of us as we play Louisiana Lafayette and Northwestern on Tuesday and Wednesday. We then finish off our week with a home series against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Our team is so thankful for all the support we have received this season and we hope to see you at our upcoming home games!
