ILLINI HOST LOUISIANA, BIG TEN RIVAL NORTHWESTERN IN MIDWEEK CONTESTS
Entering the week with a ten-game winning streak, the Fighting Illini softball team looks to continue their momentum during the midweek, hosting Louisiana on Tuesday evening and a Wednesday night Big Ten doubleheader against in-state rival and tenth-ranked Northwestern. All three games will be streamed live on B1G+.
ILLINI SWEEP RUTGERS FOR THIRD-STRAIGHT BIG TEN SERIES WIN
Illinois went a perfect 4-0 last week after a 5-0 shutout of Indiana State in the midweek and a series sweep at Rutgers. Illinois pitched two shutouts last week and gave up just six runs across the four wins, with senior Sydney Sickels tossing two complete-game shutouts against Indiana State and Rutgers.

The Ragin Cajuns of the Sun Belt Conference currently sit at a 29-10 overall record, and a 15-3 mark in conference play. Louisiana will be taking on three different midwest teams in nonconference this week, facing Saint Louis on Monday, Illinois on Tuesday, and Indiana on Wednesday. Kayla Falterman leads the team with a .418 batting average, while six different players have tallied 20+ RBI this season, including Stormy Kotzelnik's team-leading 30 RBI.
