Recap
ANN ARBOR, Mich: On day one of the NCAA Zone C meet, seniors Taylor Shegos and Madelyn Crosby close out their diving careers in the one meter event. The pair both competed in the one meter diving preliminaries on Monday.
Taylor Shegos scored a 248.05 on the boards to cap off an incredible career. Shegos unfortunately experienced a 14-month hiatus from the sport due to an injury, and she has competed in only two meets this season leading up to today (Purdue, B1G Championships). Maddy Crosby scored a 214.35 in her final set of dives, also celebrating a great four-year career at Illinois.
In the NCAA Zone structure, the top five divers in each event qualify for the NCAA Championships, with places up to 12 qualifying for a diving equivalent of a B cut. Neither Illinois divers qualified for NCAA's.
