Illini Fall to No. 3 Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – The Illinois women's tennis team fell to No. 3 Oklahoma, 4-0, in its final nonconference match of the regular season on Sunday (March 6) at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

The Sooners (14-1) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after taking the doubles point after junior Emily Casati and freshman Kasia Treiber fell 6-3 on court three, before sophomore Kate Duong and freshman Megan Heuser dropped a 6-4 decision to the No. 4-nationally ranked doubles team of Ivana Corley and Carmen Corley on court one.

In singles action, the home team earned back-to-back wins on courts four and five as Heuser fell 6-2, 6-2 to Anchisa Chanta and Treiber suffered a 6-1, 6-2 setback to Alexandra Pisareva. The Sooners then clinched the match on court six with freshman Kida Ferrari falling 6-1, 6-1 to Emma Staker.
