CARBONDALE, Ill. —  Illinois dropped Saturday's matchup at Southern Illinois, 9-3. Cam McDonald reached base with a single in the fourth inning to extend his hitting streak to 14 games, while Jacob Campbell added two hits in four at bats with a run scored. Ryan Hampe notched his second consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with a homerun, an RBI, and two runs scored. Jacob Campbell went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss.

Southern Illinois (14-5) scored seven runs in the first three innings and the Illini responded with three in the top of the fourth to pull within four of the Salukis. Southern Illinois went on score another four in the remaining four innings.
