CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini Football season tickets are now on sale for the 2022 season. Season tickets can be renewed and purchased new on FightingIllini.com. The 2022 home schedule features seven home games, including four conference matchups. Six of Illinois' seven home opponents qualified for bowl games in 2021. 

The season will kick off in week zero with a matchup against Wyoming on Aug. 27 and Illinois will host Virginia on Sept. 10 and Chattanooga on Sept. 24 to close out non-conference play. Illinois will also play host to conference foes Iowa, Minnesota on Homecoming, Michigan State for Dads Day, and Purdue for Senior Day. 

Under first-year head coach Bret Bielema, Illinois recorded two road wins over top-25 opponents, including a 9-overtime win at No. 7 Penn State in the longest game in college football history and a win at No. 25 Minnesota, the Illini's first ever win over a College Football Playoff ranked opponent. Bielema became the first first-year coach in Illinois history to win two top-25 games, as the Illini featured one of the best defensive turnarounds in the nation. 

Illinois' scoring defense, third down defense, and total defense all improved more than 50 spots in the nation rankings from 2020 under recently extended defensive coordinator Ryan Walters. The Illinois offense will be directed by new offensive coordinator Barry Lunney Jr., who comes to Champaign after helping UTSA vault into the national rankings in 2021. Lunney's offense returns 1,000-yard rusher and All-Big Ten performer Chase Brown and fellow running back Josh McCray, who was one of the top freshman backs in the nation in 2021.

ATKINS GOLF CLUB DISCOUNT FOR FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET HOLDERS: New for 2022, Illinois Football season ticket holders are able to redeem a 20% discount on daily green fees for the 2022 golf season at the newly renovated Atkins Golf Course at the University of Illinois. More information regarding a coupon code for booking will be communicated with season ticket holders by the end of May, in preparation of the official course opening in June.

GROUP TICKETS: Take advantage of price discounts for groups of 20 or more. Other amenities are also available to groups including prime tailgating locations, video board recognitions and experiences. Groups can begin reserving single game tickets before tickets go on sale to the general public. PREMIUM SEATING: Season tickets are available in Memorial Stadium's premium seating areas, including full-season and single-game opportunities in suites, and season tickets in the 77 Club and Colonnades Club. Premium seating ticket holders have access to a long list of exclusive amenities, including private restrooms, enhanced dining, priority parking, comfortable seats, and climate-controlled environments. First-year Colonnades Club ticket purchasers can take advantage of a new member price for the 2022 season in select locations.
