CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Following the Big Ten's alteration of the 2022 football schedule, Illinois has changed its Homecoming/With Illinois Celebration and Dads Day plans. Homecoming is now set for Oct. 15 against Minnesota and Dads Day will be Nov. 5 against Michigan State.
The matchup dates for six of Illinois' seven conference games changed in early January when the Big Ten made its schedule changes. Only the road trip to Northwestern on Nov. 26 remains the same as originally scheduled. Illinois' crossover games with the Big Ten East Division now include Indiana, Michigan State, and Michigan. The trip to Indiana has been added to the 2022 schedule and a trip to Penn State has been removed.
The Illini will play seven home games in 2022, including the nonconference schedule of Wyoming (Aug. 27), Virginia (Sept. 10), and Chattanooga (Sept. 24).
