FIRST SERVE | WEEK SIX
After opening the Big Ten Conference schedule with back-to-back five set wins last week, the Illinois volleyball team continues league play with a pair of ranked foes this weekend. The Illini open the weekend on the road, taking on No. 4 Purdue on Friday (Oct. 1) night at 6 p.m. CT in West Lafayette, Ind., before returning to Huff Hall to host No. 5 Wisconsin at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday (Oct. 3).
Both matches will be streamed via BTN+ ($) as well as on the radio on WDWS 1400 in Champaign and streamed on FightingIllini.com.
The Illini's 10-3 start to the 2021 season is the best start to a season since starting the 2018 season at 14-0.
The 2-0 start in Big Ten play also marked the seventh time in the last eight seasons that the Illini opened conference action with a pair of wins.
The 2021 season marks the 48th season of Illinois volleyball, with the Illini holding an overall record of 1,022-586-7 (.635) and a mark of 458-289 (.613) in the Big Ten.
