Memorial Stadium Football Gameday Reminders

News

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – All spectators attending University of Illinois football games at Memorial Stadium are required to follow State of Illinois and University of Illinois mandates to properly wear face coverings or masks at all indoor spaces, including the Great West Hall, the East Hall, restrooms, concession lines, premium seating areas, elevators and elevator lobbies. All fans must bring a mask to the game, or obtain a mask upon entering the gates. Fans are encouraged to put on masks every time they leave their seat in the main stands.

"It is important that we, as a Fighting Illini community, remain proactive to protect the health and safety on not only ourselves, but of those around us," said Director of Athletics Josh Whitman. "We were thrilled to have fans, students, and supporters back in Memorial Stadium last Saturday, and the atmosphere was incredible. Continued diligence and adherence to best public health practices will help ensure that we can enjoy Illinois sports, together again and without interruption, throughout the fall, winter, and spring seasons."

NO MASK, NO SERVICE:  Masks will be required to purchase concessions at the various stands around the stadium. Fans are reminded that, beginning this year, all permanent concession stands at Memorial Stadium are cashless and that a debit or credit card will be required to purchase. Fans are allowed to enter Memorial Stadium at all entrances with sealed bottles of water.

GATE ENTRANCES TO MEMORIAL STADIUM: In order to avoid potential long waits at the entry portals, patrons should consider entering Memorial Stadium at least 30 minutes prior to game time, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. this week. Memorial Stadium gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. The Grange Grove portal entrance continues to be the most trafficked entering the stadium. Fans are encouraged to enter through Portal 1 (off Kirby Avenue) or Portal 3 (off Irwin Drive) to take advantage of shorter lines and quicker entrances. The clear bag policy remains in place.
