CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- University of Illinois alumnus and star of First We Feast's Hot Ones Sean Evans will return to campus this weekend to shoot a special episode of the First We Feast hit YouTube series with Illinois head basketball coach Brad Underwood. Evans will also be in attendance for Illinois football's home opener against Nebraska on Saturday.Â
Evans, who graduated from Illinois with a broadcast journalism degree in 2008, began his career with Complex Magazine following graduation. In 2015, the company's food-culture magazine and YouTube channel, First We Feast, created Hot Ones and selected Evans as host. The show features Evans interviewing celebrities while eating increasingly spicy chicken wings.Â
After five years of airing the show on YouTube, TruTV launched Hot Ones: The Game Show, a spin-off of Hot Ones in 2020. In the show's 15 seasons, Evans has interviewed A-list celebrities like Shaq, Halle Berry, Gordon Ramsay and fellow Illini alum Nick Offerman.Â
To celebrate his appearance at Memorial Stadium, the Illini are debuting a limited edition hot sauce inspired by Evans' series. The sauce, named the "ILL-est," will be sold at Memorial Stadium's concession stands on gameday this Saturday.
The hot sauce is only being sold at the Nebraska game and will cost $8.99 per bottle.
