CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Grange Grove will once again be open for Illinois football pregame tailgating with a full slate of entertainment planned for the season, including live music, kids' games, the pregame radio show and former letterwinners returning to campus.
This year's live musical entertainment schedule has been set:
- Aug. 28 – Nebraska – Garrett Biggs (Nashville, Tenn.) Garrett Biggs is a Casey, Illinois, native who performs Classic Rock and Country music.
- Sept. 4 -- UTSA – Dalton Halls Band (Danville, Ill.) Dalton Halls and his band bring a sound of fresh and funky soul music.
- Sept. 17 -- Maryland – Decadents (Champaign, Ill.) Decadents was founded in Champaign in 2010 and their sounds is heavily influenced by the grooves of their parents' vinyl collections, including Classic Rock, Pop and Country.
- Oct. 2 – Charlotte -- The band Michell (Central Illinois) – A combination of some of Champaign's best talent performing music from the 70s, 80, 90s and today.
- Oct. 9 -- Wisconsin – Brat Pack (Champaign, Ill.) One of Champaign's most sought-after band featuring almost totally 80s music.
- Oct. 30 – Rutgers – 90's Daughter (Champaign, Ill.) Central Illinois' Top Party Band
- Nov. 27 – Northwestern – One of the top local DJs playing the hottest music from oldies to new.
KIDS ZONE: In addition to live musical entertainment, each week Grange Grove will feature a Kids Zone with inflatable games, face painting, balloon artists and interactive science experiences with the Gameday Genomics from the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology.
VARSITY I AUTOGRAPH TENT: Once again, the Varsity I Autograph Tent will host former Illini greats from all sports, including two great teams in the 2001 Big Ten Championship football team on Aug. 28, and the 2011 NCAA Runner-Up Volleyball team and members of the USA Olympic Gold Medal team on Sept. 4. The 2020 Hall of Fame class will be in the autograph tent on Sept. 17 before the official induction the next day.
PREGAME RADIO SHOW: Fans can listen to the Busey Bank Illini Sports Network Illinois football pregame radio show live in Grange Grove as Brian Barnhart, Steve Kelly and Martin O'Donnell preview the day's game and interview expert guests. The official network pregame show begins one hour prior to kick with WDWS's local show with Scott Beatty coming on the air two hours prior to kick.
Grange Grove is the pregame tailgate and entertainment destination for Fighting Illini football gameday. The space opens at 7 AM each gameday with entertainment beginning three hours prior to kickoff.
