CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini soccer team wraps up their preseason exhibition schedule with a matchup against Notre Dame Saturday afternoon at Demirjian Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 PM CT, and live stats will be available on fightingillini.com for fans not able to be in attendance.

The Orange and Blue are coming off of a weather-shortened 1-0 exhibition victory over Eastern Illinois last Sunday evening at Demirjian Park, with sophomore Makala Woods scoring the lone goal for the Illini. Illinois looks to prepare and build momentum heading into the season opener against Mizzou next Thursday, Aug. 19 in Columbia.

The Illini return 24 letterwinners from the 2020 roster that saw the Illini earn a 6-5-1 record and an appearance in the Big Ten Tournament. Illinois welcomes back three All-B1G honorees from last season (redshirt junior Kendra Pasquale, senior Makena Silber, sophomore Joanna Verzosa-Dolezal), and nine newcomers are set to debut for the Orange and Blue in the 2021 season.

MOVIE NIGHT PRESENTED BY BUSEY BANK

To kick off the Illinois promotion schedule, a viewing of Spider-Man Homecoming will occur post-game on the Demirjian Park video board. Free popcorn buckets and one fill-up will be provided for the first 500 fans in attendance, and free admission to Movie Night will be offered to all Illini fans. The movie will begin at 5:30 PM CT after the conclusion of Illinois and Notre Dame's exhibition matchup.
