COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Illinois women's golf team is in 12th place of the NCAA Columbus Regional through 36 holes at Ohio State's Scarlet Course. The top six teams in the Regional will advance through to the NCAA Championships following tomorrow's final round.
Illinois is +31 overall after a 310 (+22) round Tuesday morning. Tristyn Nowlin and Crystal Wang, Illinois' top two scorers on the season, are Illinois' top two scorers for the tournament. Both are +7 and in a tie for 34th place among individuals.
Wang had Illinois' best day Tuesday with a +4, while Ali Morallos was one stroke back of her on today's 18 holes to move up to +8 for the tournament and a tie for 40th place.
Nowlin was Illinois' third scorer Tuesday at +6 for the day and Reena Sulkar was Illinois' fourth scorer at +7. Isabel Sy is in a tie for 59th at +11 overall after a +9 day.
The second round of the 18-team Regional is set for Tuesday and the final round is scheduled for Wednesday. Six teams and three individuals will advance from each regional to the national championships.

Monday's Recap
The Illinois women's golf team is in a tie for ninth place at the NCAA Columbus Regional after totaling +9 Monday at Ohio State's Scarlet Course. Tristyn Nowlin carded the Illini's low score of 73 (+1) to be tied for 23rd place after 18 holes.
Illinois is three spots and six shots back of the qualifying line of sixth place. Arizona State and Kent State are tied for the last advancing spot to the NCAA Championships at +3 overall.
Nowlin had pars on the first 10 holes of her day, including a par on all nine holes of the back nine, where she started her round. A birdie on the ninth hole, her last hole of the day, got Nowlin to +1.
Isabel Sy was Illinois' second-best scorer Monday with a 2-over 74 to be tied for 33rd, while Crystal Wang and Ali Morallos were one stroke back of Sy to be tied for 40th place as the Illini's other scorers.
The second round of the 18-team Regional is set for Tuesday and the final round is scheduled for Wednesday. Six teams and three individuals will advance from each regional to the national championships.
