EVANSTON, Ill. – Illinois men's tennis won their 13th straight match on Sunday afternoon, defeating Northwestern 4-3. After falling down 3-1 early the Illini won the final three matches to capture the win.
Northwestern won the doubles point with wins on two and three. Zeke Clark and Alex Brown were leading Brookes/Bratholm 6-5 when play stopped. In singles, Â Clark defeated Nick Brookes in straight sets (6-1,6-2) to give Illinois it's first point of the day.
Illinois dropped matches on courts two and six before winning out. Each of the Illini won after losing their first sets. Noe Khlif defeated Chris Ephron 1-6,6-3,6-4. Siphosothando Montsi defeated Steve Forman 2-6,7-6,6-3 at No. 1 before Hunter Heck clinched. Heck defeated Trice Pickens 6-7,6-4,6-2 on Court 5.
