CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced that season tickets are now on sale for the 2021 Fighting Illini football season. Season tickets can be renewed and purchased new on FightingIllini.com. Season ticket holders who chose to defer their 2020 tickets do not need to take any action and will be automatically renewed for the 2021 season. Ticket prices for 2021 will be the same as announced for the 2020 season.
The 2021 home schedule now features seven home games, following the cancellation of the season opening trip to Ireland. The season will kick off with a Big Ten matchup against Nebraska on Aug. 28 and will be one of the first and only college football games played that weekend. Illinois will also play host to conference foes Maryland, Wisconsin on Homecoming, Rutgers for Dads Day, and in-state rival Northwestern. Nonconference games against UTSA and Charlotte (Foundation Weekend) round out the home slate.
Under first-year head coach Bret Bielema, Illinois' 17 scholarship seniors returning for an additional year is the most of any Power-5 team in the nation. Bielema comes to Illinois after winning three Big Ten Championships at Wisconsin, the most of any active coach in the conference.
Without public ticket sales in 2020, the Illinois Ticket Office gave season ticket holders the option to rollover their ticket payments to 2021, get a full refund, or donate their previous payments to the I FUND. Season ticket holders who paid in full and opted to rollover their ticket payments to 2021 will automatically have their tickets renewed and no further action is required. Season ticket holders who donated their 2020 payments to the I FUND, received a refund or did not pay for their 2020 tickets will receive a renewal form to purchase their season tickets for 2021. All season ticket holders can expect to receive more detailed information from the Illinois Ticket Office regarding their account.
