MADISON, Wisc. – The Illinois Fighting Illini women's tennis team lost to Wisconsin on Friday afternoon 4-3. With this loss, Illinois falls to 5-7 (B1G 5-7) on the season while Wisconsin moves to 8-6 (B1G 7-5).
Illinois started strong with a convincing doubles point win to take the 1-0 lead. On court two, seniors Emilee Duong and Sasha Belaya took a quick 6-3 win while freshman Kate Duong and sophomore Ashley Yeah were victorious 6-4 on court three. Senior Asuka Kawai and sophomore Josie Frazier were in the driver's seat on court one, leading 5-3 before the other courts clinched.
Moving to singles, Belaya won her match on court five (6-0, 3-6, 6-2) after battling with an ankle injury the last two weekends. Frazier also secured the victory on court six (7-5, 7-5) but it was not enough as the Badgers won on courts one, two, three and four to clinch the 4-3 victory.

Illinois will head to Minneapolis on Sunday to take on the Minnesota Gophers. The match will begin at 10:00 a.m CT and live stats and video will both be available.
