URBANA, Ill. – The Illinois women's tennis team defeated Indiana on Saturday afternoon 7-0. With the win, the Illini move to 4-6 (4-6) on the season while Indiana drops to 1-9 (1-9). The Orange and Blue are on a roll, winning three of their last four matches.
The home team dominated the entire match, winning two doubles matches and leaving one unfinished before winning five of six singles matches in straight sets, and taking the sixth in a super set.
Illinois grabbed the doubles point to start the day strong. Sophomore Ashley Yeah and freshman Kate Duong quickly took over on court three, earning the win (6-2). Senior Asuka Kawai and sophomore Josie Frazier were in the driver's seat the entire match on court one, eventually securing the 7-5 win. The match moved to singles with the Illini holding a 1-0 lead.
K. Duong kicked off singles for the Illini with a dominating victory on court two (6-2, 6-2) to extend the lead to 2-0. Frazier followed suit with another win on court five (6-3, 6-0) to make it 3-0 in Illinois' favor. With Illini athletes in the lead on the remaining four courts, it came down to who could finish first to secure the match for the squad.
Kawai stepped up and took care of business on court one, winning in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) to secure the Orange and Blue victory. The teams decided to play the remaining matches through and Yeah continued the win streak with a victory on court four (6-2, 7-5) to extend the lead even further to 5-0.
Senior Emilee Duong got in on the winning action, taking her match on court three (7-6 (7-2), 6-3). To wrap up the day, sophomore Emily Casati took home her first conference singles win of the year on court six in a superset (7-5, 2-6, 10-8)

The Illini are back in action tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. at the Atkins Tennis Center against the Boilermakers of Purdue. Live stats and video will be available, as well as a broadcast stream.
