ABOUT PURDUE: Purdue enters Sunday's game with an 6-8 overall record, including 3-7 mark in Big Ten play. Most recently the Boilermakers, who were idle mid-week, have suffered back-to-back losses at Minnesota (77-72) on Jan. 28, and vs. Penn State (80-70) on Jan. 31. Junior G Kayana Traylor, paces the Boilermakers' offensive attack at 13.9 points per game. Traylor is one of four Purdue players averaging better than 8.0 points per game alongside junior G Brooke Moore (11.9 ppg), redshirt-senior C Fatou Diagne (8.9 ppg) and senior G/F Tamara Farquhar (8.3 ppg). Diagne and Farquhar lead the team in rebounding at 8.4 and 6.6 boards per contest, respectively. The Boilermakers average 67.9 points per game, while allowing 72.3 per contest. Purdue ranks among the top 100 in the NCAA in several categories including No. 80 in free-throw attempts (274), No. 85 in free-throws made (190), No. 88 in assists per game (14.6),and No. 94 in rebounding margin (+3.1).Â
SERIES VS. PURDUE:Â Sunday's matchup is the 80th in the series between the Illini and the Boilermakers. Purdue leads the all-time series, 61-18, including a 24-12 advantage in games played in Champaign. The Illini are looking to snap a nine-game Purdue win streak in the series. The last Illini win the series was Feb. 21, 2015, a 47-46 victory at Mackey Arena. Illinois' last home win in the series came Feb. 21, 2010, a 61-57 victory.
LAST TIME VS. PURDUE: Jeanae Terry tallied 10 points, finishing as one of three Illini to notch a double-digit scoring effort - along with Petra Holesinska (18) and Courtney Joens (12) - but Illinois was unable to overcome a 42-19 rebounding edge by visiting Purdue in a 70-58 loss at State Farm Center on Feb. 16, 2020. Kennedi Myles and Terry each pulled down five rebounds to lead the Illini effort on the glass; Myles notched three offensive rebounds. Terry also led the Illini with four assists in the  contest.
