URBANA, Ill.- The Illinois women's tennis team dropped their Big Ten home opener to Wisconsin on Friday night by a score of 4-3. Illinois falls to 0-4 on the young season, as the Badgers jump to 3-3.

Freshman Kate Duong and sophomore Ashley Yeah won their doubles matchup on court three for the fourth consecutive match, but it was not enough as the Badgers took courts one and two.

Senior Asuka Kawai led the Illini in singles, securing a win on court one (6-4,6-2). Duong also contributed to the Illini scoring total with a win on court four (6-1, 4-6, 6-4). Yeah won her match on court five (7-6, 3-6, 10-8) but Wisconsin was too much as they took wins on courts two, three and six to secure the match.

The Illini are back at home at the Atkins Tennis Center on Sunday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. against Minnesota.
