IOWA CITY, Ia.- The fourth-ranked Fighting Illini men's gymnastics team fell to the tenth-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes 402.000-400.500 Saturday night in Iowa City.

The Illini were led by Danny Graham, who earned his eighth career event title on rings with a 14.100. The Illini also earned event titles from Connor McCool on the floor (14.250) and Ian Skirkey on pommel horse (13.700). Skirkey also set a new career-high score of 13.300 on the floor.

Illini sophomore Dylan Kolak scored new career-highs on floor and vault with scores of 13.050 and 14.150, respectively. Freshman Sebastian Ingersoll made his Illini-debut on pommel horse, scoring a 10.550, and Tyler Schmidt earned a career-high on pommels with a score of 13.100.

Junior Michael Fletcher and freshman Logan Myers competed in the all-around for the Illini and posted scores of 79.000 and 70.150, respectively, good enough for third and sixth place on the meet.

The meet was close throughout, as the Illini took the lead after vault. Iowa retook the lead after their vault, and ultimately pushed through for the win after mistakes from the Illini. The Illini drop to 2-2 (1-2 B1G), while the Hawkeyes improved to 2-0 (2-0 B1G).

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Rotation- Pommel Horse (65.500)

• Skirkey tied for the event title on pommels with Bennet Huang of Iowa with a score of 13.700. Tyler Schmidt tied for fifth with his career-high 13.100.

Second Rotation- Floor Exercise (67.850)

• McCool tied his season-high and took the event title on the floor with a 14.250. Evan Manivong placed fifth with a score of 13.650, and Michael Fletcher posted a score of 13.600, placing sixth.

Third Rotation- Vault (69.450)

• Evan Manivong again led the Illini on the vault, posting a 14.300 and taking the silver. Dylan Kolak placed third with his career-high score of 14.150.

Fourth Rotation- Still Rings (67.100)

• Danny Grahamn earned his eighth career event title on rings with a score of 14.100. Joel Diaz took bronze with a season-best score 13.550, and Jordan Kovach took fourth with a score of 13.500.

Fifth Rotation- High Bar (64.350)

• Hamish Carter took the silver on high bar with a 13.200, while Evan Manivong scored a 12.900, good enough for seventh place on the event.

Sixth Rotation- Parallel Bars (66.250)

• Carter took the bronze on the parallel bars with a score of 13.650, and Michael Fletcher followed him in fourth place with a 13.450. Jordan Kovach placed sixth with a score of 13.300.
