CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini men's gymnastics head coach Justin Spring announced the addition of Connor Micklos (Chesapeake, Virginia) to the Illini men's gymnastics roster for the 2022-23 season. Micklos, a junior Olympic standout on Pommel Horse, is the first addition to the recruiting class of 2022.
"Connor Micklos can be our next NCAA National Champion on Pommel Horse. He is a fighter and has a great body line so I think he'll be competitor on quite a few events his freshman year" head coach Justin Spring said of Micklos.

- Two-time Pommel Horse Junior Olympic medalist (Silver 2019, Bronze 2021).
- Member of Gymstrada Gymnastics School coached by Stephen Patterson.
- Three-time Academic All-American (2019, 2020, 2021).
- National Honor Society member 2020-2021.
- Four-year member of Magnus Fraternus philanthropic club (2018-2021).
- Intends to study Kinesiology at Illinois.
