CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini women's tennis team continues their Fall 2021 tennis schedule this weekend with a trip to Nashville, Tenn. And Vanderbilt University, the host of the 2021 June Stewart Classic. The full Illini contingent will be making the trip Oct. 8-10 to compete against top teams in singles and doubles competition.
The 2021 June Stewart Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt University, features four teams (Miami, Iowa State, Kentucky, Illinois), features three days of competition in singles and doubles in which all four teams will compete against each other in both singles and doubles competition formats.
The Illini enter the tournament after a successful weekend at the ITA Midwest Regionals at Atkins Tennis Center, where four singles competitors and three doubles teams qualified for the ITA Midwest Super Regional in late October. Juniors Ashley Yeah and Josie Frazier, sophomore Kate Duong, and freshman Megan Heuser qualified in singles competitions, while the doubles teams of Megan Heuser/Ashley Yeah, Kida Ferari/Kasia Treiber, and Kate Duong/Josie Frazier also qualified to super regionals.

10:30 a.m. — Miami/Iowa State vs. Kentucky singles
1 p.m. — Doubles Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky and Miami/Iowa State v. Illinois
2 p.m. — Vanderbilt vs. Illinois singles
Saturday
10 a.m. — Vanderbilt vs. Miami/Iowa State singles
Noon — Doubles Vanderbilt vs. Illinois & Miami/Iowa State vs. Kentucky
1 p.m. — Illinois vs. Kentucky
Sunday
9 a.m. — Miami/ISU vs. Illinois singles
11 a.m. — Doubles Vanderbilt vs. Miami/Iowa State and Illinois vs. Kentucky
Noon — Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky singles
UP NEXT
Following the June Stewart Invitational, the Illini contingent will compete at ITA Midwest Super Regionals on Oct. 22-26 at Ohio State.
