CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini women's tennis continues the fall tennis schedule this weekend with the ITA Midwest Super Regional, set to run from Oct. 22-25, hosted by Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Juniors Ashley Yeah and Josie Frazier, sophomore Kate Duong, and freshman Megan Heuser all qualified to super regionals as a result of making it to the round of 16 at the ITA Midwest Regional at Atkins Tennis Center last month, with Duong automatically qualifying based off rankings. The doubles teams of Heuser/Yeah, Ferrari/Treiber, and Duong/Frazier also qualified for super regionals last month, with the latter automatically qualifying based off rankings.
"We love where this team is at after having a couple of fall tournaments under their belt, so we are excited to continue that positive progression this weekend at the Super Regional in Columbus" head coach Evan Clark said. Â "The team has done a fantastic job with their training and have worked very hard, so we are looking forward to competing again and putting all that hard work into action."
Athletes from DePaul, UIC, Illinois State, Michigan, Northwestern, Michigan State, Ohio State, Toledo, and Wisconsin will join Illinois at this weekend's tournament, scheduled for a 32 singles draw and 16 doubles draw.
