Howdy Illini Fans!
My name is Zoe Caryl. I am a freshman catcher from Topeka, Kansas, majoring in atmospheric sciences.
Our 20-hour weeks allowed us to get our cleats dirty with a taste of competition. This past weekend we concluded our fall schedule by finishing 8-1. In addition, we played our yearly Orange vs. Blue intrasquad scrimmage (GO BLUE!!!) and the Alumni game. It was a fun experience seeing all of the alumni softball players, sharing past experiences, giving advice, and supporting the program.
This fall was a stepping stone for our upcoming spring schedule. We will build off our fall game experiences to work hard this winter individually and as a team to be a strong presence in the Big Ten.
With that said, we are more than excited for what the spring holds for us and cannot wait to compete in a more "normal" schedule, unlike last year. Come safely support your Fighting Illini in 2022, and we look forward to seeing the fans at Eichelberger Field!
I-L-L!
